BIRTHS AND DEATHS AND (ELECTRONIC) CARRIAGES

Now I'm on Facebook proper instead of just having an account to admin the License to Thrill fan page (look to the box over on right of this post) I've started an artist page for myself, something I said I'd never do. Why not go the whole way? It seems these days that you easily get way more action on there than any blog. I mean, are people really that lazy now that they can't be bothered going outside of Zuckerberg's baby for anything? 24 hours and I have as many followers on there as I've gathered in three whole years with this blog. I'm sorry I am such a bore. Anyway please join and I'll do my best to keep it lively:

It will be interesting to see how Google+ is working for people and then if I'm getting positive reviews I'll give it a try, when they are finished their Beta period and allowing more people to join. They've hung out a "no vacancy" sign for the time being.

In other news I was looking back over some older work this week and I was drawn to a halt by "My Burden, 2008", Now freakishly prophetic, you'd have to agree. I did this piece using a childhood photograph of Amy Winehouse that was published in something like News Of The World or some other tawdry British rag. I showed it in a couple of exhibitions as part of a series called "I'm So Miserable Without You, It's Almost like You're Here"
. It was meant to be a commentary on the connection between creativity and madness. Now that she has died, and it's all come to pass, it seems even sadder and more disturbing than it was in the first place. That said there hasn't been any evidence provided that she died of an overdose yet; it's been all anyone's been talking about, so much so - they have forgotten it's all based on assumption.
